There comes a time when some books need a makeover—a new cover, new blurb, new search terms on Amazon. Last week, that time arrived for my mystery/thriller combo Double Eclipse. I produced two versions of the new cover and gave my readers the opportunity to vote for their favorite.
Frankly, I was surprised. I really thought Option 2 would garner the most votes, but Option 1 was the more popular, by a margin of 2 to 1!
Readers were also given the option of “no change” and even that rated higher than Option 2. So even though I preferred Option 2, I respect my readers and I write with the aim of serving their suspense fiction desires.
The readers have spoken…and we have a winner!
The new and improved Double Eclipse is now available wherever books are sold. And be sure to watch the trailer on my YouTube channel.
Take a look at the new cover and book description

Option 1, the winner
One mystery. One thriller. Double the suspense.
Dark Sky, Full Circle
An eclipse is coming. An eclipse that will obscure the sun and expose the sins of four guilty men. When the sky grows dark, they will have come full circle.
Ride over. Payment due.

How about you? Did you vote your preference? Do you judge a book by its cover? We all do. Tell us about it in the comments.
It is one of my favorite novels which, I understand, ha been converted to an Indian web series. I have shared your post on Facebook.
Hello Indrani! Good to hear from you, and I’m so happy you like the book. I’ve seen the trailer for the web series. It looks pretty intense. Thanks so much for reading and sharing your comment.
I do judge a book by its cover many a time.
Particularly, the book lay out of the book cover depicts somewhat the narrative, about its simplicity or complexity, its suspence or romance. I think one can get an idea.
I chose the option one as far as I remember.
I am happy majority selected that.
Thank you,
Tahmina
