Will definitely be spending time reading over Xmas. Going on a 2-week cruise on Saturday- Madeira, 3 of the Canaries, Lisbon. Presently I have 11 short stories published in print form, out of 88-a pathetic strike rate. We will be accompanied by the double Booker winner, Penelope Lively-not in person, but with her just-published Metamorphosis-26 of her short stories. We have something in common. My 88 stories – she’s 88 and still writing.

Wow Bryan, that’s amazing! Eleven out of 88 is not pathetic, and the stories that haven’t sold yet may still be picked up if you keep shopping them out. Enjoy that cruise! I’m a bit envious–it sounds lovely and exciting. Merry Christmas!
